We can scan your 35mm film negatives or positives to high resolution JPG or TIFF files with our number #1 rated film scanning service.
35mm Colour, transparencies and black and white film stock can be scanned. You can mix and match, no need to separate.
All 35mm films are scanned at 4000dpi, giving an image of around 5500 x 3500 pixels (18 megapixels).
Before scanning, each strip is cleaned with our Air-Wipe-Air process.
During the scanning process all colour films are digitally processed with Digital ICE 4 to remove any remaining dust and scratch defects. Digital ICE is ineffective on black and white film stock.
Yes, we can scan individual frames from a strip of film. Simply highlight the frames to be scanned or ignored.
Single frames that have been cut from a strip are difficult to scan as they have to be mounted into specialised film holders in order to be scanned. For this reason single frames are scanned and charged seperately.
After we return your images to you we keep a copy of them on our servers for around 12 months. So should you lose or damage your disc we can replace it for you without having to rescan your images.
Having your films, slides and photos scanned and converted to digital images, not only preserves them before they deteriorate, but it allows you to view and share them using todays digital equipment, such as computers, Digital TV's, Digital photo frames, iPod's and smartphones. You can upload them onto Social Networking sites, such a Facebook or Twitter or share them with anyone you wish using an online photo album. The images can also be imported into Microsoft Powerpoint for presentation use and are suitable for use on high resolution projection systems.

All items are scanned using high quality scanners that can automatically adjust the colours, brightness and contrast levels. Digital ICE4 is included on all colour slide and film scans to remove the majority of any defects, such as dust and scratches, resulting in a clearer image.
Photographs are scanned using dedicated Kodak photo scanners which have patented photo handling devices to handle your photos with care. Picture saving software also improves the image quality by checking and adjusting the colours and contrast levels.
Our standard scanning resolution for 35mm films and slides is 4000 dpi, which results in files of around 8 - 12MB in size, depending on the image content and film size. Medium format films are scanned at up to 5300dpi using the latest Opticfilm 120 scanning hardware. Photographs are scanned at 600dpi as standard.
All the images are returned as standard JPG files, exactly the same type of file from a modern digital camera. You can then use the images for any purpose, display or print. We can also return scans of slides and films in uncompressed lossless .TIF or .DNG format if you wish, for a small additional fee to cover the increased file size.
